Doubletake

This small book (6 x 5.5 inches) contains a collection of interesting photographs, printed one per page with no captions. There are only two pages of text: one at the front of the book serving as a brief introduction, and one at the end giving some notes on the photographer's technique.

About half of the photographs are in color, and most of them are the result of combining two or three color transparencies. Interestingly, the one color image that is a normal photo – not a combination of multiple images – could easily be mistaken for a combination image.

The black & white images are all normal photos, but feature peculiar juxtapositions or other unusual elements.

Thus all of the photos in the book are a little odd, and you are likely to do a double take on first viewing them.

People who dislike manipulated photos may want to give this a pass, but it's a fun little book for everyone else.
